The Silent Pool Gin Range. Created with the vision of capturing the story of their creation through the aromas, complex layers of flavours and the one-of-a-kind packaging. Rather than being reliant on one unique ingredient to take the spotlight, our recipes work as a symphony of flavour, each and every ingredient serves a purpose and complements the last without dominating the palette.
The balancing of these complex flavours always involves a long and arduous recipe development process. Hundreds of different flavour combinations are tried and tested before finding the perfect one. Taste the Silent Pool Gin range side by side and you’ll find they share the same DNA: handcrafted, complex, bursting with ever-changing but harmonious flavour.

Silent Pool Gin
Silent Pool Gin. The first of the series, released in 2015. Created with the aim to capture the essence of the Surrey Hills – where the Silent Pool Distillery is based – within the gin. The location of our distillery is full of ingredients ripe for the taking, so the distillers didn’t have to look far to find many of the signature botanicals used in the gin. From Chamomile growing through the broken concrete floor in the old barn where our still now stands, to the elderflower that grows in abundance around the Silent Pool and the roses and lavender that line our local village, Albury.
Silent Pool Gin is classic gin at heart. Full-bodied and fresh with depth, clarity and above all else, flavour. It’s a rich, clean, juniper-driven spirit with floral layers of lavender and chamomile. Fresh notes of citrus and kaffir lime are grounded with the subtle sweetness of local honey, creating a well-balanced gin that’s both traditional and refreshingly individual. It’s inspiration is taken from the Silent Pool, an ancient spring nestled in the heart of the Surrey Hills that boasts crystal-clear water fed from a chalk aquifer. Its beauty inspired the bottle design and liquid within.
How do we create a gin with such harmony in its complex flavours? A rather mosaic approach. It begins with a Maceration, where rich oils from our base botanicals provide the backbone of the gin. Next, Basket Infusion. Where brighter aromatics are steam distilled providing the top notes. Next, our special Tea Infusion (what else would you expect from an English gin brand?) Delicate floral notes are soaked in a giant tea bag before being added to the still. Finally, everything is distilled together with a good helping of honey from our neighbouring bee hive added directly to the still.

Silent Pool Rare Citrus Gin
An innovative and alluring gin handcrafted from the world’s rarest citrus. It wouldn’t be in our nature to create something as simple as an ‘orange gin’. We had to bring to life citrus in the Silent Pool Distillers way, and that’s what we did. We dove deep into the world of citrus and chose to pay homage to the three genetic ancestors of all citrus fruits, the pomelo, mandarin and citron. Make no mistake – this is not a ‘flavoured’ gin. It’s an exquisitely distilled, juniper forward gin that’s beautifully aromatic with a unique taste.
A clear liquid filled with complex layers of citrus notes. A proper gin, distilled from only fresh or dried ingredients. The light, bright and rich citrus notes are perfectly balanced by delicate spices coming through from juniper, coriander and angelica with hints of liquorice and cassia. Tropical, peppery notes are enhanced by cardamom, cubeb and Timur pepper that adds a fruity, peppered grapefruit note. Bright and zesty with subtly sweet, enticingly rich and delicately spiced for a taste experience like no other using the complex flavours of the world’s rarest citrus.
We’ve always sourced the finest botanicals for our gin. On our journey to discover the finest citrus fruits, we unearthed two citrus collectors who share our relentless passion for creativity and excellence. With over 360 citrus varieties in their collections, we had plenty to choose from, but narrowed it down to a handful of rare citrus, with four key stand outs. Buddha’s Hand, a bright zesty sherbet lemon top note. Natsu Dai Dai that provides enticingly rich notes of mandarin and subtle accents of lime. Green Seville Orange, the original Chinese variety harvested while still green. Finally, the Hirado Buntan that contributes a subtle but gorgeous grapefruit taste and a sweet creamy mouthfeel.

Silent Pool Rose Expression Gin
The first in our series of expressions, a gin dedicated to pay homage to a quintessentially British flower, the rose. Silent Pool Rose Expression Gin is as equally complex, intricate and individual as our core recipes, but with a delicate twist to amplify a core botanical and give it its well-deserved time in the limelight. The recipe was designed around the top notes of the locally sourced rose petals and to do this, we took a scientific approach to deepen our understand of which compounds deliver the best aromas. Many rose gin use extracts or infusions to get the rose flavour across. We’re proud to say through our research, we’ve created a delicious London Dry rose gin through distillation alone. Base notes of tea and floral rose arise from the spirit. Light, elegant and smooth vetiver and cardamom mingle beautifully on the palette. Rose builds in the back of the mouth along with more tea, citrus and gentle spice. Juniper is present in the background providing a piney, fruity backbone.
